Our congratulation this month goes to Nigel Jordan, Founder of River Jordan Counselling Service & Consultancy, who has been awarded Most Supportive Counselling Services 2025 and the GHP News Patient Care Excellence Award 2025 in Bristol in the GHP Mental Health Awards 2025.
Nigel is a dedicated mental health professional passionate about creating inclusive, supportive spaces for mental health. River Jordan Counselling Service and Consultancy currently provide culturally sensitive therapy for adult men from racially minoritised backgrounds. These services are essential for people from Black and Minoritised backgrounds as they are more likely to experience poor mental health due to issues around racism and discrimination, trauma, social and economic inequalities, housing, language barriers, and much more.
Nigel’s commitment to empowering marginalised communities is evident in his 2024 accolades, including the Most Empowering Minority-Centric Mental Health Service – UK and the GHP Equality & Diversity Excellence Award.
What does the award meant to Nigel?

Nigel started his business due to being passionate about helping others and, our enterprise team has been supporting him to achieve this since he started his business. We wish Nigel all the success in the future and look forward to sharing more stories of impact in our communities.
